Alternative uses of the Photosheet

January 30th, 2010 by Aneta

We had an interesting enquiry at the Wedding Expo last weekend.  Someone asked if we could stop the Photobooth from printing the photosheet – that’s right, get behind the curtain, press the button, 4 photos, 4 seconds apart, but no photosheet ejected!

She wanted to keep these, and send each out as a thank you card to her guests after the wedding. What a great idea!

Don’t forget – we could happily design a suitable thank you card in the same style as your invitation to accompany the photosheet. Contact us for more details on this.

Obviously our plan with the Photobooth has always been to give the guests something to take away immediately – it adds to the fun of the Photobooth. But this adds an element of surprise and suspense to the guest’s enjoyment of the Photobooth.

If you’re interested in operating the Photobooth in this manner, remember we’ll always be on hand to explain and assist your guests. It would probably pay to organise someone as the ringleader – someone who knows many of the guests (maybe member of the bridal party or a close friend of both the Bride & Groom) and can ensure they ALL get behind the curtain and take a photo! We’ll do the best job we can to help out and ensure they understand there’s no immediate photosheet, but they’ll be sure to see it very soon!

Maddi

January 27th, 2010 by Jason

I’ve just finished my post-processing of a 2-part photoshoot of the adorable Maddi.  I’d previously had the privilege of photographing her mother, Hannah, during the last week of her pregnancy.  Both Hannah and Billy were keen on capturing some pictures of the now 3-month old Maddi, so we set aside some time over the Christmas break to capture some images in the comfort and warmth of the indoors.

Maddi, however, wasn’t too appreciative of me and my camera, and the session was cut short after the first hour.  As promised, this was a 2-hour session, so Part 2 of the photoshoot involved running amok in a local park one evening.  As well as photos of the ever cute Maddi, I wanted to capture the entire family, and the big kid in Billy certainly loved the playground!

Once again she tired of the Nikkor lens in her face, but not before we’d captured some great shots.  When I left Aneta looking after Maddi to snap some last minute pictures of Hannah and Billy together, we came back less than 5mins later to find her fast asleep.  Plum-tuckered out!

Hannah and Billy, the DVD of the final images is with the courier today.  Hope you enjoy them!

Thanks for coming to the North City Wedding Expo

Wow! We had the most amazing day yesterday at the North City Wedding & Bridal Expo.

We were setup next to David Stedman and Van Meer Suite hire who were great company and very inquisitive about the Photobooth. We ran into a few old friends, including Adrian De la Fuente (formally Duo, who photographed our very own wedding in 2008) and our favourite coverband in Wellington, Jonny and the Dreamboats.

We cheekily snapped a quick photo during the teardown of the exhibition (we’re not looking too bedraggled after the long day on our feet!).

The vibe was brilliant… Most visitors were a little unsure of the Photobooth, but once we lured them behind the curtains they couldn’t believe the fun. For some it was like being a kid all over again.  As expected, we caught some great moments, and here’s a quick 1-minute video of the ~800 odd images captured inside the Photobooth on the day!

Good times!  Thanks for coming down.

WE DO the North City Wedding Expo 2010 – come along!

January 21st, 2010 by Jason

This coming Sunday (24 Jan ’10) we’ll be exhibiting at the 2010 Wellington North City Wedding Expo – held at Te Rauparaha Arena, Porirua.

The Photobooth will be there and we’ll be encouraging people walking around the expo to jump in the Photobooth and have a laugh!  We’ll have a custom-made photosheet being ejected from the printer for prospective brides and grooms to take home.

Aneta will also be exhibiting her latest Wedding Design Collection, so not only can you enjoy yourself in the Photobooth but you can marvel at her fantastic wedding stationery.

Want to see the Photobooth in action for yourself? Come along to the Wedding Expo and say hi – we’d love to see you there. If you know anyone getting married this summer, it’s not too late for them to book the Photobooth – tell them to come and see us! We’ll be wearing these funky lanyards:

Welcome to the new We Do Photography & Design blog!

January 18th, 2010 by Jason

Welcome, finally, to the new WE DO Photography & Design blog!

This new website has been a couple of months in the making, and getting this blog up and running is one of the final touches to the site.

The Design half of We Do Photography & Design – a.k.a Aneta – has been hard at work creating mock-ups and screenflows and providing graphical elements for the site, whilst I’ve been busy working on my PHP / CSS skills and coding up this template.

What do you think?  Nice, huh?

Actually, this should just be considered version 0.5 of the blog design – there’s still a bit of work to do.  The page layout isn’t quite as aesthetically pleasing as we would like, but in the meantime as we continue to tweak this we’ll still be posting regularly on this blog, and I hope you’ll continue to visit or subscribe to our feed.  Via these dinky little Category icons you can see if the post is relevant to the Photobooth, Photography, Design or just general WE DO business.

We’ll be posting across all 4 categories, and hopefully posting articles of interest.  There will be photos of our photoshoots (with a couple of big ones up over the next couple of weeks – stay tuned!), Photobooth wrap-ups, latest designs we’ve been working on, and just things that interest and inspire us, and hopefully you too.

Tune in and stay!  Great to have you following!
